2017 C&C Prize Ceremony

Welcoming speech by Mr. Kaoru Yano,
President of The NEC C&C Foundation

The 2017 C&C Prize Ceremony was held at ANA InterContinental Hotel Tokyo on November 29, 2017. The ceremony started with the welcoming speech by Mr. Kaoru Yano, the president of The NEC C&C Foundation, followed by the recognition of 2017 prize recipients by Dr. Tomonori Aoyama, the chairman of the awards committee. The 2017 C&C Prizes were presented to Dr. Mitsuo Kawato, Prof. Alfred V. Aho, Prof. John E. Hopcroft and Prof. Jeffrey D. Ullman.

Group A: Dr. Mitsuo Kawato;
For contributions to pioneering research and development based on the advanced integration of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and information engineering, and its innovative application to psychiatry

Group B: Prof. Alfred V. Aho, Prof. John E. Hopcroft and Prof. Jeffrey D. Ullman;
For outstanding contributions to laying the foundation of theoretical computer science and to education in that field through numerous influential publications

As shown in the program leaflet, after the congratulatory speeches and the recipients' acceptance speeches, the ceremony continued to the cocktail party for exchange of greetings, and ended with the dinner to celebrate the 2017 prize recipients. Followings are the pictures taken at the ceremony.
